HD 36 Elected Officials

HD 36 is represented in the Colorado House of Representatives by Su Ryden.  HD 36 is represented by multiple U.S. Congresspeople, state senators, and county commissioners.  Democratic elected officials who represent parts of HD 36 at the federal, state and county levels are listed below.

State Representative Su Ryden, HD 36 – Email Rep. Ryden

State Rep. Su Ryden is a lifelong Democrat, longtime Aurora resident, business owner and an active community supporter.

Congressman Ed Perlmutter, CD 7 (northern two thirds of HD 36) – Contact Congressman Perlmutter

A lifelong resident of Jefferson County in Colorado’s 7th Congressional District, Ed is a product of public schools. Ed graduated from Jefferson High School in Edgewater and then graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1975 with a degree in Political Science, History, and Economics. Ed worked his way through law school at CU as a laborer on construction projects and graduated in 1978.

State Senator Morgan Carroll, SD 29 (northern half of HD 36) – Email Sen. Carroll

Morgan Carroll was recently elected to represent Colorado Senate District 29. She serves as Chair of Senate Judiciary, Senate Health and Human Services Committee, the Legislative Audit Committee and the Legal Services Committee. She was appointed as a Commissioner to the National Commiss and is a member of ion on Uniform Laws.She has recently been appointed Chair of the Interim Committee on Pinnacol Assurance. She has served in the Colorado House from 2005 – 2008 and served as Majority Caucus Chair, vice-chair of Judiciary Committee and on the Business Affairs and Labor committees.

State Senator Suzanne Williams, SD 28 (southern half of HD 36) – Email Sen. Williams

Senator Suzanne Williams is starting her second 4-year term in the State Senate after serving eight years in the Colorado House of Representatives. Senator Williams is the only registered American Indian state legislator in Colorado. Currently, she serves as the Democratic Caucus chair, the State, Veterans and Military Affairs committee chair, the Transportation committee vice chair, and is also a member of the Appropriations committee.

County Commissioner Pat Noonan, Commission District 4 (precincts 417-420 in HD 36) – Email Commissioner Noonan

Pat Noonan is serving her first term as Commissioner, representing District 4. She was sworn in January 2007 and her term will expire January 2011. She is serving as Financial Officer for 2009. As Commissioner, Pat oversees the Finance, Facilities and Fleet Management, County Attorney, Special Assistant to the BOCC, Communication Services and BOCC Administration departments. Pat represents Arapahoe County on a variety of boards and committees including: Colorado Counties Inc., National Association of Counties, Health and Steering Committee and the Denver Regional Council of Governments.

County Commissioner Frank Weddig, Commission District 5 (precincts 501-524 in HD 36) – Email Commissioner Weddig

Frank Weddig is serving his second term as Commissioner representing District 5. As Commissioner, Frank oversees the Human Services, Communication Services, the Special Assistant to the BOCC, County Attorney and BOCC Administration departments. He was sworn in January 2009 and his term ends January 2013. Previously, Frank served in the Colorado Legislature, first as a State Senator from 1994-2000, and later in the House of Representatives from 2000 – 2004. He also served on the Aurora City Council from 1981-1994. He is a retired commercial construction electrician. Frank and his wife Pat live in Aurora and have three grown daughters and six grandchildren.
